John Martell is Executive Vice President, Manufacturing Operations at IMP Aerospace, bringing more than twenty years of experience in electronics and aerospace manufacturing and service environments. He joined IMP Electronic Systems in 2007 as Manager of Wire Harness Programs and progressed to Director of Production in 2012 and General Manager in 2019. In 2020, John was promoted to Vice President of Production with IMP Aerospace and was most recently appointed to his current executive role. A graduate of Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering, John began his career in continuous improvement before transitioning into project management and senior leadership roles. Throughout his career, he has led and supported numerous Lean Sigma initiatives focused on customer value, operational efficiency, and defect elimination.
Kevin began working at IMP in 1988 at the IMP Aerospace Division, located at the Halifax International Airport. In 1992, he transferred to IMP’s Avionics Division and in 1995 joined the contracts management team. In 2005, Kevin transferred to IMP’s IT division, IMP Solutions, as Accounting Manager and then relocated back to IMP Avionics (now the IMP Electronic Systems Operating Unit) as Manager of Contracts and Administration in 2008. Kevin holds an Accounting Degree from the University of Calgary, as well as a Certified Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CGA).

Derek Mackay is Director and General Manager of IMP Electronic Systems, bringing more than fifteen years of experience in electrical and avionics engineering, operations, and executive leadership within the aerospace and defence sector. He joined IMP in 2009 as an Electrical/Avionics Engineer and advanced through progressively senior roles, including Engineering Supervisor, Manager of Production and Engineering, and Director of Operations, before his appointment to his current role in 2026. Derek holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of New Brunswick and a Master of Business Administration from Dalhousie University. A registered Professional Engineer, he is recognized for leading high performing technical teams and delivering operational excellence in regulated manufacturing environments.
